UNITED BONDED - INSTALLATION OF RE-LOCATED MACHINES

The project involved the design and installation of power supply to machinery relocated from Melbourne to Brisbane.

The machinery is used to manufacture insulation materials used for noise and heat applications. The insulation material is then cut to size or rolled up.

The main power supply is from an Energex 750 KVA transformer to an MPA designed, manufactured and installed Switchboard through 240mm² 1000A SDI cables. It also involved the design and installation of cable ways (in the form of 600m ladder) and varying sizes of cable trays all installed at roof height level in the factory.

Different parts of the machinery were synchronized (interlocked), as well as repaired or redesigned and included the old relay logic in the Blending System and the Cross Lapper System.

MPA also programmed the PLC’s and HMI on the two carding machines, as part of the upgrading procedure.

With this machinery upgrade completed, MPA’s client now has increased productivity and has also saved on transportation costs of raw material, as all products are now manufactured at the one location.
